Around the year 1990 Saul Bolaños working in Costa Rica Invented Cafegrafia© This new Coffee Art Form
was the result of a long Research carried out in a small photochemical lab. Technically this early process
employed the original light sensitivity of the silver based photographic emulsion coated on commercial paper.
The Coffee Process allowed liquid or powdered coffee to be precipitated in situ right upon the primary silver
image.The result was a coffee toned photographic image (as shown here) of great permanency. The Artist
authored more than 100 different subjects and sold about 30.000 works until he got tired of producing them.
The edition has been closed for many years now. But shown here are some works that may be still available.
This coffee art is very rare.
