The artist's Coffee Art Works have been published on the front covers of many
magazines. Newspaper articles about his coffee art and coffee printing process
are also numerous. Television networks from several countries were allowed to
document some of his novel coffee imaging techniques in the early days of
C A F E G R A F I A. ( 1989-1993) CAFEGRAFIA, a term coined by the artist
literally translates as Coffee graphics or Coffee-imaging.
As a new imaging technique, CAFEGRAFIA gained entrance to one of the world's
high technological arenas: photo&image expo (Seattle wa 1992).
Competing against artists of about 40 countries one of his works won a medal
for "THE MOST ORIGINAL" (northwest international exhibition of photography -
Usa 1993) He later won other international awards in the same arena.
His last Mayor exhibit was held in 1996 in the congress of COSTA RICA,
where LARGE FORMAT (32 x 44 inches) Cafegrafia was shown for the first time.
Those coffee art works were created on paper using Costa Rican coffee .
CAFEGRAFIA (as trademark) was registered in the United States patent office
in the early 1990's. The artist was born in Costa Rica and He lives there now.
