The National Theater of Costa Rica ( Coffee image above ) was built in 1890 in San jose, the capital of Costa Rica. Christopher Columbus
discovered this country in 1502, He saw the friendly natives adorned with lots of gold on their body. He name it    "Costa Rica " (Rich Coast).  The
spaniards came and conquered the lowlands, there was no gold, they had to toil the land to barely survive. Generation after generation  the settlers
lived in miserable conditions,   they tried the cultivation of wheat (1560) sugar cane (1700) tobacco (1750) cocoa (1760) it was not until he year 1816
that they really stroke gold with the cultivation of coffee. By the year 1990 there was finally a middle and upper class. The coffee croppers agreed
  to build an opera house by shipping in with a "coffee tax" and so the opera house or National Theater above was built.               A work of coffee art.
